Hannah Caldwell

Hi, I'm Hannah Caldwell

Keeping this diary since 2020.

Hi, I am Hannah. I started this little corner of the internet back in early 2020, mostly for myself. I had just moved into my first apartment with a real kitchen, and I was tired of feeling foggy and reaching for the same three sad meals on repeat. So I began writing things down: what I ate, how it made me feel, which habits actually stuck and which ones quietly fell apart by Wednesday.

I want to be upfront about what I am not. I am not a registered dietitian. I do not have letters after my name. I am a regular person who reads a lot, cooks a lot, gets things wrong a lot, and tries to share what I learn in plain language. When I cite something, I will tell you where it came from, and when I am just sharing my own experience, I will say that too.

Over the years this diary grew from a private journal into something a few thousand kind people read every month. I write about the basics of nutrition, the habits that helped me stay consistent, the meals I keep coming back to, and yes, the tools and apps I have tried along the way. I only recommend the things I actually use.

When I am not writing, I am usually walking my dog, over-watering my herb garden, or testing whether a recipe really does take "only 20 minutes" (it never does).

What you'll find here

The diary is loosely organised into a few topics: nutrition basics, habits, recipes, notes on weight and body, and the tracking tools I've tried over the years. You can also browse everything by date.

A small disclaimer

I'm not a doctor or a registered dietitian, and nothing here is medical advice. I'm just one person sharing what's worked for me. If you have specific health concerns, please talk to a professional who knows your situation. Everything on this site is my own honest opinion — when I recommend a product, it's because I actually use it.
